What colors and patterns do rats come in?

Here at Camarattery we only "color breed" our rats. For example, this means we don't breed "other colors" into our `blue family`. We only breed one color in each line which keeps the colors dark and true. Each color is bred in its own separate line. We specialize in American blue, Russian blue, Burmese, Siamese and Black. We do breed Russian blue into our Siamese and Burmese. And we only breed genetically black eyed Siamese and Burmese.

Right now we are experiencing a mixture of colors that are born in our litters because of some out crossing we did in 2008. However this will not last long and we will be back to having `one color` in each line like we have had in the past years.

We are also experiencing a few standard eared rats at this time, most of those carry dumbo. We will be breeding the standards out of our rattery soon. Our prediction is that by the end of 2009 we will accomplish breeding only dumbo eared rats. Hopefully sooner. However the new Roan rats and Recessive Blazed might not be dumbo at that point because we just got them not long ago. Update: 9/2009 Reached our goal of all dumbos except the Roan, recessive blazed & dwarf rats! We will now start working on the latter to get them dumbo.

The rats listed in our residents rats pages are of coarse our personal breeding stock. So they are NOT available for adoption.
