I use the going rate in the U.S to base my pricing: I use the national average, this way my pricing is the same as the other U.S rat breeders. I do not ask a lot for my rats. All I hope for is that they pay for their bedding, food, caging, toys and other rat supplies they need, sometimes they do, sometimes not. Lower prices in some ratteries can mean lower quality animals, and the breeder wanting to sell and breed more rats as fast as they can to get them out the door faster. On the flip side higher prices than these can mean they are out to make money and the quality of the rat suffers. The national average is based off of the best quality breeders have to offer while hoping to pay for rat supplies. My rats are not low quality animals from unknown lines nor are they pet shop stock, they are all from imported lines, lines I have shipped in or lines I have driven thousands of miles to obtain. My rats are very well pedigreed and for many generations their ancestors have been bred for health, temperament and longevity with the cancers and other negative genetic health issues bred away from. The national average base pricing I use offsets all of the money I spend to provide quality animals to all of my adopters. Some breeders cannot provide this kind of quality to you, thus the price differences in some cases.
Other Pricing:
CD with your rat(s) baby pictures: $7 each CD. If you want a CD with your rat(s) pictures from the day it was born until it's weaned $7 each. If your getting more than one rat at the same time I can put them all on the same CD. Just let me know before you pick them up so I can make the CD. If you bought a rat from me a long time ago and want a CD of the baby pictures I can still do that.
Pedigree Package: $2.00
Rat Boarding:
$1.50 per day per animal. Maximum of 2 cages while boarding. $1.50 per
day charge for the 2nd cage. I will board your rat(s) for you while you
are out of town as long as all of your rats were adopted from me and no
other rats from another source have ever been added into or exposed to
your colony. I will board them in a separate room than my rattery.
Grain is supplied by me at no extra cost, but any extra foods/treats
must be supplied by you. Your cages bar spacing cannot be more than 1/2
inch, to avoid my very willing to breed rats from enticing yours to
come visit, NO exceptions sorry! Contract will be signed by you for
boarding arrangements at the time of drop off. I must have at least 2 -
3 weeks notice to prepare for your rats. I will not take last minute
drop offs.

I no longer sell grain. My rats are not used to eating grain. If you want to feed the rats you purchase from me the grain diet talked about on my diets page, you will need to purchase some of the Harlan blocks so you can wean them off of the blocks slowly. You cannot cold turkey switch them to grain, they don't know what it is. However giving them blocks is healthier and more nutritionally balanced and easy to obtain since I always have it. Blocks are not only 100% nutritionally balanced, they are also less messy. With grain diets you will be forced to use other supplements to cover your rats dietary needs because grain is an inferior way to feed your rats. Please see my diets page for more information on what to feed your rat. If you need more Harlan you can order a full bag one month in advance. I supply it for many people and I need to save some for everyone.
Payment Policy:
You must
put a $5 down payment per rat you want held. You also have the option
to pay the animal off in full. You have four days from the time of adoption approval to get that payment to me in order to lock in your hold. If you want a rat and have not put a
down payment on it and someone else does, then the person who made the
down payment gets the rat. If you have made a down payment on a rat(s)
you may not get the money (the down payment part ie...$5) refunded if
you decided not to get the animal.
If I for some reason don't have the animal you wanted either because the pregnancy didn't take or she didn't have the rat you asked for, I will refund your money 100% no questions asked. If you are a breeder you are first in line. But if another one of my customers has already made their payment you cannot have their rat. All you can do is move forward in line. All down payments will be deducted of of the final price of the animal.
Down
Payments can be made by sending a check, money order or PayPal.* Only instant PayPal transfers, not next day. If you need to do that its easier to send a check.*
Note: My PayPal email address is NOT the same one that is posted on my site. I will provide that to you after we have agreed on what you need to pay me for. When using PayPal you must pay me in the correct amount as per my prices page. I will leave that up to you to calculate.
When you send
the down payment per snail mail please include a separate note, do not write this not on the check! There is not enough room for everything I need on the check.
Please include the following info on your separate note:
. Your Name. So I know who the check is for.
. Which rats the payment is for. I will have several checks coming in for my current available litters, so I need to know which particular rats your check is paying for.
.Your e-mail address. This is so I can contact you to tell you I got the payment.
If you do not include the separate note with your check I will not know which rats to apply the payment to.
Once I
receive the check, or PayPal confirmation, I will e-mail you with confirmation of receiving
the money. When I receive the down payment I will remove animal from
the "available" status and put your name on it. If I do not receive the
down payment with in four days from the time you requested the rat from
me, I will take your hold off of the rat and it will become available
again. The only exception to the four day policy is if you live out of state.
All final payments you make when you pick up the rat(s) must be made in cash ONLY. I will NOT accept checks for final payment. If you bring a check I will not send the rats home! This is the case even if in the past you paid me by check at pick up time. Please bring correct change as I usually don't have any.
If you do not pick up your pet within seven days ofter it's ready date and I cannot get a hold of you, I will adopt the animal to someone else. No refunds of any kind. Your down payment cannot be applied to another rat in this situation.
Obviously I won't post my personal information like my address on the web for everyone to see, because that's not safe... So after reading the down payment policy you can e-mail me for that info.
Camarattery reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone for any reason without explanation.
