Colorado's Blue Dumbo Capitol! Also Burmese, Siamese & Hooded Specialist! Denver's Place To Adopt Long Lived, Pedigreed Playful Rats!

Hello and welcome to Camarattery (Cama) a small hobby rat breeder located in South West Denver, off of Alameda and I-25. We are also a few blocks South of 6th Avenue and Federal BLVD.

This rattery was established in April of 1998 here in Denver Colorado, although the name Camarattery wasn't "adopted" until October of '04. Camarattery is based on professionalism, dependability, honesty and cleanliness. Our mission is to educate the public, strengthen the rat community, and be here for the individual weather you are a new rat owner, or a long time pet owner or breeder. Camarattery is the oldest, most established ongoing breeder in the state of Colorado and the founder of the "Colorado Rat List"  and the "Association of Colorado Rat Enthusiasts",  which is "AFRMA's" Colorado affiliate.

We only specialize in two things, Self and Hooded Down Under rats. We breed standard and dwarf rats in several hair types and colors, although our focus is the blue colors. All of our rats are color bred which means we only breed one color into each rat which keeps the colors deep, dark and true. We do NOT sell feeder animals. And we never sell to pet shops, only to individual adopters. We breed for pet and the main goal, show quality animals only. We breed to better the animal in every way. Our pedigreed rats are bred to have a very long life expectancy. We do not breed pet shop, mill animals or rats bought or traded at rat expo's or swap meets into our lines. We are a no cull rattery. Camarattery only breeds a small amount of rats at a time, and we do NOT breed every month of the year as we have a "Breeding Season"  and rest time that we respect. You can read more about what we breed on "Our Specialties" page.

Our rats are our beloved family pets and treated with the utmost respect and love. This family is attached to each and every rat as most of them have been with us since birth and handled from day one. We know the personalities of all of our rats and cater to every one of their individual needs, and are very in tuned to every rat and what they prefer. They are very spoiled and get everything they want, need and more. The rats lives are filled with love, care, attention and tons of toys. Camarattery provides the best that we can provide and we never put them last in our lives. The rattery is small enough that we can give each rat individual attention. We never crowd our cages. All our babies receive the same respect, and love as our adults.

Even though our rats are our fun pets, we never stop breeding with a serious mind. Our constant goal is to focus on longevity, health and temperament. Since these traits are a direct result of genetics and breeding, this is our top priority, to make a better pet and to help the rat breed as a whole, and to forever improve the rat. This rattery is very much interested in helping other breeders do the same and strongly encourage ethical breeding practices.
Our last focus is making better patterns or pretty colors. A pretty rat is nothing at all without a long life expectancy and great health. However, after many years of breeding we do have our patterns and colors where they should be.

If you would like to learn more about our rattery, please visit the "About Camarattery"  page which gives you more information on our humble beginning to where we are today.
