| Mushrooms | It's mold and that is toxic. It will kill them in hours. |
| Dried corn | It Harbors mold, which is very toxic to rats. |
| Moldy veggies | Any and all mold is toxic to rats. |
| Citrus fruit | Causes male rats to be sterile. |
| Onion | Causes anemia and stomach ache. |
| Bulk tofu | Harbors dangerous bacteria. |
| Green potatoes and eyes | Contains solanine which is toxic. |
| Wild bugs | They always harbor parasites that are very harmful to rats. |
| Raw beans | Contains anti nutrients that cause red blood cells to clump. Frozen beans are ok because they have been pre-cooked. |
| Cabbage and brussel sprouts | Contains anti nutrients that destroy thiamine. |
| Artichokes | They inhibit protein digestion. |
| Raw sweet potato | Contains cyanide containing compounds. |
| Apple seeds | Contains cyanide. |
| Licorice | Contains Nero-toxin. |
| Green bananas | Inhibit starch digestion. |
| Processed sugar | Sugar been linked to seizures in rats. Natural sugar is ok in moderation such as the type in fruit. |
| Foods To Use In Moderation: |
| Fattening foods. Like any nuts, and peanut butter. |
| Salty foods. Use very sparingly. |
| Oily foods. It's not toxic but not good for cholesterol either. It's best just to stay away from it all together. |
| Fresh corn. It's ok, but use in moderation because it has almost no food value and contains high levels of nitrates. |
| Carbonated beverages. Rats cannot burp. So it will have to come out the other end. |
| Veggies with high nitrates ie... Lettuce, beets, celery, collards and spinach, cucumber and radishes. |
