| Rex | Re/Re | Curly coat. You can see the skin under the coat. Tight curls. |
| Double Rex | Cu/Cu | Patch work hairless. Almost a hairless but with "patches" of fur. |
| Velveteen | Re/Re | Also called a "bad" Rex. Cotton like wave and thick fur, you cannot see the skin underneath. |
| Hairless | hr/hr | Basically a nude rat. A rat having no hair. Whiskers are very short and curly. |
| Satin | Unknown | Produces rats with longer, shiny fur as well as whiskers that are slightly bent. The satin mutation also tends to add a yellowish cast to white or light-colored fur. |
| Silvering | si/si | Silver hairs mixed in the coat. It is both recessive and dominant. |

| Dumbo | du/du | Ears lower and rounder. Sitting on the side of the hear rather on the top in the case of a standard eared rat. |
| Tailless/Manx | tal | Absence of a tail from birth. Missing vertebra. |
| Dwarf | Genetically smaller. 2 copies of the gene produce dwarf. They have larger eyes and shorter thinner tails as well as tiny feet. | |
| Zuckers | fa/fa | Very obese rat genetically. It is a genetic condition. Usually diabetic and die young. This is very rare. |
